New HD Nintendo Console Confirmed
Months and months of rumors and speculation and logical business predictions have pointed that Nintendo will release a Wii HD of sorts to revitalize its console presence. Finally we got answers! First reported by Game Informer through numerous anonymous sources, reveals that Nintendo plans on revealing a new console at this year's E3. This explains the gradual decline in new releases and marketing for the Wii in recent months.
The console will be able to support HD resolutions however there are only conflicting reports on whether the system will be stronger than the 360 or PS3 or neither. Either way it will be a much needed upgrade from the Wii's dated system and decline in sales. The 360 and PS3 share many successful AAA titles and games by third party publishers that the Wii system is not capable of matching. So it seems Nintendo is ready to break its habit of poor relations with third party developers and enter the ring for core gamers hearts again. To avoid making the same mistake as previous launches, where third party developers were left in the dark about their next console Nintendo is already providing publishers information about their new console. This is a positive change for Nintendo to actually give developers enough time to be interested, plan and provide games for a strong launch.
There are no other details at this time on the system although there are many things to be expected, excited and hoped for. One is the controls of the system, although we can expect both motion and analogue controls. If they will have a better online services. And of course if there will be connectivity with the Nintendo 3DS to name a few. There hasn't been any confirmation that this new console will hold the Wii branding or not. Looking back at Nintendo's tradition we can expect a new name or the name to even be changed in the last months before launch, like the Wii.
The console is planned to be released in late 2012. This year's E3 is where we can expect to hear officially from Nintendo about this new console which will begin on June 7th.
